I took yesterday off, an official, work sanctioned 'mental health day', it was wonderful. I staying in my pajama's all day, knit a ton Squish, it was only 1 pattern repeat but man alive there are alot of stitches in that 1 repeat. I've decided to add another repeat before doing the border, it just doesn't seem big enough and I don't hold much faith that blocking will make it that much bigger. I'm sure the knitting nymphs will be glad to prove me wrong, and it will be more than possible that I did in fact knit a ranch house. (I would post a picture, but it's still on the needles and looks the same as it did before.)
I'll knit a little more on it this weekend and next weekend, along with some little hearts, my Wild Thing sweater and a little something for the pooh bear.
I don't know why but Christmas hasn't held the same magic for me as it has in the past. I'm not sure why that is, but it makes me sad. Maybe I'll write a letter to Santa. And buy lots of twinkle lights, because twinkle lights make everything festive and magical.
Another goal for next year, post more pictures. :)

Send someone to fetch us, we're in Saskatchewan
Why yes, I am listening to 'Movin'' Right Along', wanna make something of it? Didn't think so. :p
I am snarky today, my head hurts and once again, I have no knitting to report on.
I do however have some vacation days saved up that I plan to take and have my own private knitstock, with bathrooms, and kitties and tv (oh my!). I want to knit the pooh bear something for Christmas but I am not sure what. A sweater? A vest? I mean he'll be 2 months old so, toys seem kinda irrelevant, ya know? Suggestions are welcome.
Christmas is fast approaching, which means so is New Years Eve. My goal is to finish out this year with no UFO's on the needles or as few as possible, and like everything in knitting, socks don't count.
New Year's Knitting goals:
~ Knit more than 1 pair of socks
~ Knit something for the girls for Christmas
~ Learn Magic Loop, so many people love it and 100 million Elvis fans can't be wrong.
~ Knit from stash
~ Organize my stash and list on ravelry with pictures
That's all I got right now.

truth
I have done ZERO knitting this past week. I've brought it out, and there it sits, neglected. Maybe I will knit tonight.
Last Saturday my little pooh bear came down for a visit. We had some cuddle time, some screaming time (him not me, it turns out my little guy is not a fan The Rainbow Connection, sad) and some napping time (again him, not me, although I was used as a pillow). It was a lovely visit. Then came the snow! And with that, some downed trees and power outages. I was lucky our power was restored on Halloween, I know some people who are still without power.
I heard from my ex on Monday, wishing me a Happy Halloween, and I wondered if he still reads my blog. Probably not, but if you do, Hi Doug!
Now, let's talk movies. The Rock em Sock em Robot movie...(aka Real Steel, the actual name I think), OMG! SO GOOD! It's like the movies Rocky & Balboa combinded into one Hugh Jackman filled treat of goodness. I seriously wanted to cheered and clapped by the end.

Halloween
Hola!
Halloween is next Monday, and whilst I love Halloween, this year it is making me sad. I never really had trick or treaters in all my years living on my own, despite that, I always bought candy, just in case, but that isn't why I'm sad. I'm sad, because I have been missing my ex. I'm not sure why, maybe because the Patriots have been on Sundays and we use to watch it together or if his friend Mike would come over to watch, I'd go on the computer catch up on some t.v. shows but the game would be background noise. I miss that.
I also miss our Halloween. It was more or less a regular day, dinner, t.v., Edgar full of candy on the coffee table (Edgar is my bear cookie jar that had mini candy in it year round) maybe a horror movie or some video gaming. Things we did mostly everyday, but this time of year makes me miss it more.
This Halloween, maybe this year, while watching The Living Dead I'll knit him a heart or 2.

I need to be a waitress
Not really, in all honesty, for the most part people annoy me. I'm kinda like Shirley McLain in Steel Magnolia's only younger and with better hair, fashion sense & 2 cats instead of a huge dog.
However, and this is what I don't understand, and yes, I know it's tv and not real life, but apparently, as a waitress you can afford a nice apartment, in a big city, granted they're in a scary neighborhood, but still! How? GRRRRR
tiny rant over, thank you for your support.
Last Wednesday I got to spend the entire day with my lovely S.i.L and cute as a button pooh bear. I, as a first time Auntie, learned how to change my first diaper, with mom's assistance of course, it was poopy & everything. I was so proud of myself. When I was done velcroing the diaper, I picked him up and the moment of truth, the diaper stayed on. That's right folks, I did not have to duct tape the diaper to the baby as I feared I might have had to.
O.K. folks, here's what gets me, they have first time parent classes, sibling classes, hell, Grandparent classes, all to teach you how to care for a baby...Grandparent classes, seriously!?!? but NO Auntie classes. GRRRRRRR. Anywho, there was much baby coo-ing and snuggling and it was fabulous and best of home, I went home smelling with my clothes smelling like the baby. :)
I have been working a lot lately, so no new knitting going on, just a couple of hearts here and there.

It's Not Easy Being Green
I worked on Saturday, almost a full day to catch up from the day I took off to meet my little pooh bear. Since I was at work and kinda crabby, I decided to treat myself to the Muppets Green Album and I've been listening to it ever since. On repeat. Seriously. Sick, I know. I can't help it, it cheers me up and makes me less stabby.
I am super tired today, which someone told me might be because of too much sleep, which caused me to ask this: Where does too much sleep tiredness end and real tiredness begin?
I have also been crabby (thank you PMS! you rock my world!) So I am going to stop and take stock of things to be happy about.
~ My little pooh bear
~ My mum without whom, who knows
~ My friends, esp. Russ who makes me laugh like a loon & Adam, who is always there
~ My sweetie, who even though he likes jar sauce over my homemade sauce, is a pretty cool guy
~ The Kitties, Sirus, Lila, Riley & Bella boo, (the last 2 are not mine) they are nutso and make me laugh and follow me around everywhere and meow at me. (i'm looking at you Riley & Sirus) and like to surpise me with lap visits and boob squishing.
~ The Job - sometimes refered to as the 4th ring of hell, I'm very gratefull to have a job esp in this economy.
~ The Muppets because they are cool and muppet-like
I feel a little better.
