Sleeve

During my last let's-liberate-crap-from-storage heist, i brought home my now ex FiLs sweater.  It's been sitting in my closest for a week or 2 and yesterday, being Father's Day, I thought it fitting to start up on it again.  Sadly, I don't think I'll be giving it to Frank, honestly I don't know who will get it, but I want to finish it, for Frank and strangely for my dad.

The left sleeve of DOOOOM!

Franks Sweater of Doom

It really isn't a sweater of doom, it's actually quite delightful to work on, well, from what I remember.  I started this lone sweater for Frank, my now ex father in law, in 2004 when the Red Sox were in their first play off's for the World Series.  It was going to be a Christmas present, then Father's day, then Christmas again.  Then my husband and I got divorced, and into storage the sweater went.  When I was living with Doug, I decided to knit on it a bit and got the second sleeve done.  Then it went back into hibernation.  I was debating frogging the sweater and reclaiming the yarn, but, I put so much time and most importantly love, into the sweater, I just couldn't do it.
I finally rescued it from storage, where it's been living for far to long.  I'm determined to finish it, hopefully by the time the Ravelympics start.
I don't know who will be the lucky recpient of the sweater. I would love for my brother to get it, but, it won't fit him, nor will it fit my oldest nephew Christopher.

I'm *this* close to finishing my tall socks, one more night of t.v. knitting and they should be done.  :)

New Subjects of Yarnia

Bohemia Fibers Barefoot Bohemian Sock Yarn.
I think I mentioned before that I joined a Ravelry yarn club whose colors are inspired by The Walking Dead.

My first shipment, A Boy and His Bow, is a beautiful blue/green/tan color

.
The second shipment, The Walker is a Rocker, is jewley blues and purples.

A tall sock

I have knit a tall sock. It is about mid calf, not as tall as I thought it would be but it is tall and would make a nice boot sock.  Now to get me some boots.

My only issue is that I am not cool enough to not care about my stripes matching.  I think I rigged it so that they won't be too far off.

These were made using Turtlegirl76's afterthought leg pattern.

Lottery

Way back when, I vowed to play the lottery once a week.  I believe it was a resolution of mine.  Thing is, I don't smoke, therefore I don't stop off at places where they sell lottery tickets that often.  I do play when the powerball is big and someone at the office askes for $5, and aside from the odd scratch ticket I don't really play.

Maybe next years day I'll buy $52 one dollar scratch tickets and scratch one a week.  Might make life a little easier.  :)

A Drink

this my friends is a yummy concoction my friend Dale made for me last friday night.  It's summer in a glass with a little vodka for kicks. Really it's just ice, vodka (however much you'd like) ginger ale (i use diet) and a splash of pomergranite juice. So cool and refreshing.  I will be drinking these this weekend, it's been one of those weeks.

My very tall socks are coming along well, however, I kinda mucked up the increases so I need to rip back a whole bunch of rows and increase the right way.  Such is the way the sock ball rolls ya dig?

What's your favorite summer time drink?
